Woodman Museum

This year’s “Holiday Artisan Faire” at the Woodman Museum’s Thom Hindle Gallery, Keefe House, Dover, NH, runs Dec. 8 – 23. Pleased to be included with a number of pastel paintings, such as “Sylvan Rhapsody” and “Fall Colors,” and note cards with reproductions if my work.

Art Guild of the Kennebunks: Awards Show

The Art Guild of the Kennebunk’s annual Awards Show at the Community House in Kennebunkport, ME took place Oct. 9 – 11. Happy to report that “Monhegan” received the First Place Pastel award and that it found a new home. Also sold two unframed pieces (“Winter Marsh” and “White Crest Beach 2”):

Pastel Society of America

I’m honored and excited to have my painting “Foss Mountain” juried into the Pastel Society of America’s 49th Annual “Enduring Brilliance” exhibit (2021). Many thanks to the jurors Richard McKinley, Colette Odya Smith, and Otto Stürcke. The show opened online September 7, 2021.

Newburyport Art Association / Firehouse Gallery – Love is Love

Pleased that “Fantasia” (Pastel, 11″ x 14″) was selected to be included in this exhibition in collaboration with the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, MA. Like many of my abstract or semi-abstract pieces it is based on observed landscapes that are expanded and transformed into an imaginary world in the process of painting.

Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery (NHAA) – “Perfect Pairings”

These are two pastels, based on a view from the cliffs of Monhegan Island in Maine, which I transformed in various paintings of my “Looking Down” series. Most of the pieces in this series, which encompasses works in pastel, oil, and acrylic, are in private collections, but some are still available. These are my first paintings fresh off the easel this year, framed and ready to go to the New Hampshire Art Association’s “Perfect Pairings” show, which runs February 3 – 28. They can be purchased separately or with a 10% discount as a set.

NAA Fall Members’ Juried Show, Part 1

“In the Park” (Oil, 9″ x 12″) and “Loisach River” (Oil, 9″ x 12″) at the Newburyport Art Association’s Fall Members’ Juried Show, Part 1 (Oct. 18 – Nov. 2). Excited that “In the Park” received the Newburyport Bank Award for Best Work in Oil and that it also sold. Many thanks to juror Lauren O’Neal, the organizers of the exhibit, and the collector.

Summer paintings from Bavaria

Here are five new pastels done on location this summer in beautiful Kochel am See and Walchensee near the Bavarian Alps.
